James Pitzer for Pullman
City Council - Ward 1
About James
James Pitzer is a lifelong Pullman resident and proud graduate of both Pullman Public Schools and Washington State University. At 24, he brings a fresh, local perspective rooted in years of living, working, and volunteering in the community he calls home. From serving the public at local businesses to engaging in community service projects, James has experienced Pullman through many lenses — as a student, worker, neighbor, and now as a candidate ready to lead.
James is running for Pullman City Council to help get Pullman back on its feet. He believes the city deserves transparent, pragmatic leadership and is ready to take action. His platform focuses on revitalizing the local economy, strengthening ties between the city and local institutions, and supporting small businesses that are the backbone of the community.
Thoughtful, solution-oriented, and persistent, James is committed to representing all of Ward 1 — not just one group or interest — but the entire community. He’s ready to work hard and be a strong, steady voice for Pullman’s future.
Platform
Strong Ties with Local Institutions
Pullman thrives when our city works with key local institutions like Washington State University, SEL, and others that drive our economy and shape our community. I’m committed to strengthening these relationships to ensure open communication, shared planning, and coordinated problem-solving. By building trust and collaboration between the city and our largest employers, educators, and innovators, we can better serve the needs of all who live and work in Pullman.
Pullman is full of potential — but we need to take bold steps to revitalize our economy and bring energy back to our local corridors. From smart development to community-driven planning, I’ll support efforts that grow our economy while preserving what makes Pullman unique.
Economic Revitalization
Small businesses are the heart of Pullman’s economy and identity. I’ll work to remove unnecessary barriers, provide meaningful support, and ensure local entrepreneurs have a seat at the table. A thriving small business community lifts everyone.
Small Business Support
Transparent & Accountable Leadership
Pullman deserves a city council that communicates clearly, acts with integrity, and puts residents first. I’m committed to building trust through open dialogue, accessible decision-making, and consistent engagement with Ward 1 and beyond. We need leadership that doesn’t just show up during elections, but is present year-round.
